From 1890.

I think I’m doing this series of posts on images of trapeze artists/ tightrope walkers because the word “aerialist” is so cool.

    That image is amazing. The graphic design is striking. I like the awkwardness of the poses. Also, the situations are really energetic. It reminds me of superhero art like this Jack Kirby bit:

    I love Kirby’s things, though the aerialists would have reminded me more of kamandi–the last boy on earth images.

    Jon, that “troupe of aerialists” phrase made me laugh out loud. Thanks for passing this along.

    Thinking of your “active resume” concept of a blog from a few years back, it turns out that that’s what this site is for me as a musician. It doesn’t substitute for things like CDs and a formal bio, like I thought it might when I started. But it is great for showing my bona fides.
